Here it is! The massively anticipated second volume of the Tribal Lineage compilation, expertly curated by BMSS head-honcho Boom Shankar.

Boom Shankar is an emblematic figure in the psychedelic trance scene - a pioneer, incessant traveler and psychedelic explorer who racks-up innumerable DJ sets in all 4 corners of the globe, transporting cutting-edge sounds to horizons new.

Over the last 20+ years, his label BMSS has become renowned for fostering genuine innovators and other misfits from the underground trance scene, a unique platform for like-minded producers and DJs to explore and excel at their craft free from constraints or fleeting fashions. The result is a brother and sisterhood of individuals from all around the world united by a singular vision of a healing state of trance, futuristic technology and, ultimately, common tribal roots.

Totaling over 3:30 hours and no less than 28 tracks, this compilation features many stalwarts from the BMSS stable, as well as other close friends of the label. With BPMs ranging from 132 to 147, this is a complex, varied and eclectic tapestry of the different facets of the psychedelic trance bubble.

Night and day, progressive and Full-on, Goa and Twilight, Brother Moon and Sister Sun, the proverbial Yin and Yang - all are represented in this awe inspiring collection of highly volatile psychoactive material.

Tribal Lineage 2 - BMSS Records Showcase 2020

"The past months have been quite the interesting and challenging time for me:

being stranded due to the Covid-19 crisis on a small island called Koh Rong in Cambodia, I had the long desired but now forced upon chance to recharge myself after years of intense touring, to ground myself after seasons of excessive travels and to fully reconnect myself with nature while living in a treehouse without proper access to the internet, a kind of digital detox which I was longing for quite some time but never had the time or chance to execute.

Because of these limitations, I had to neglect my label BMSS Records as I couldn`t professionally work from here and thus we haven`t released anything in the past two and a half months after our mini album by Triceradrops called "Requiem" which scored #1 on Beatport and kept me optimistic about my upcoming project.

As life is slowly returning to a more social level and travel limitations are step by step lifted all around the world, I felt it`s the right time to strike back with a new release, hoping it`s contents have a chance to be played at upcoming events and gatherings and wishing it`s positive vibes will reach and uplift you guys out there.

I had the chance to test all tracks on some family parties here on the island in the jungle, on the beach or on houseboats and the positive feedback from the dancefloor gave me the energy to finally finish this project which was originally scheduled to be released in early spring.

Long story short, "Tribal Lineage 2" is upcoming and it features night and day, Progressive and Full On, Goa and Twilight, Brother Moon and Sister Sun, the proverbial Yin and Yang - all those elements are represented in this collection of highly volatile psychoactive material.

The compilation will see the light on the 29th of June via BMSS Bandcamp and Beatport and will feature 28 tracks and collaborations from nearly all our members of the label plus some close friends. Unrestrained, relentless and profoundly psychedelic: or in other words, the ultimate showcase of our BMSS sound!

Shanti Gravity - The final Psytrance Festival in Asia

Ever been stuck on an island? Two and a half months ago I was invited to Shanti Gravity on Koh Rong in Cambodia as a surprise artist, closing this amazing festival with an extended set of mine. Little did I know and expect that first of all, there would be an after party I could play an additional closing set plus secondary a further boat cruise around the islands where I would be able to play on the crystal blue seas. One week of full power festival vibes featuring dope music, amazing and lovely people and all this in an out of this world scenery...a dream coming true!

And then the Corona crisis hit the world and left me stranded here on the island as all flights leaving the country were cancelled and all borders closed.

Now in the beginning of May, more than 2 months after the festival ended, I am still here on this archipelago and am more than just thankful to my friends who invited me last minute to this gathering. They are the ones who are kinda responsible that I am not quarantining in Germany but am having the privilege to still being stuck on this little paradise while watching this beautiful footage and can walk the festival grounds which are located just a few hundred meters away from me...

Sometimes life is funny and you end up in places you never thought you would stay for so long - but I am thankful and happy it turned out like this! 🙏

So thank you Shanti Gravity and Positive Beats family for all what you have done and for bringing the authentic Psytrance vibe back to Cambodia - it has long been overdue! This was probably one of the last festivals for quite some time and I am still feeling the vibes giving me hopefully enough energy to make it through the coming European summer.

Once our Psytrance culture will have a chance to be freely celebrated and cultivated again, I can only recommend to everyone to give Cambodia and this festival a big chance - I could not have chosen a better closing of this early festival season. Thank you to all involved and I hope to see you all very soon again - on Koh Rong or wherever life will reunite us! ❤️

The US producer was inspired by the notion of writing music for souls that have transcended into another world, and - true to his signature style - this is psychedelic music with a distinct heady and industrial vibe.
