A bit about Gilbert:

Gilbert born in 1976 Malta start experimenting with electronic music since 1997, he had a chill out project with his friend best friend Joseph Zammit for a few years under the name of Square-X, in this time he also started to play quite often at a bar called Misfits where he played from chill out to Break Beats and Drum n’Bass. From 1998 Gilbert started going to festivals abroad and enjoying a bliss of electronic music and in 2002 he left Malta for 7months in India were he made his first encounter with the Goa Parties, then to Thailand (Full Moon Parties) and landing in the Australian (Doofs) for 1 year. Since he had not produced any music for quite a while he found himself experimenting with Propellerheadz Reason on his friends PC for 1 year in Australia.

In mid 2003 he arrived back in Malta were decided to make the next step and go professional on production. He started to use Logic 5.5 on PC and it was at this time that he met with Colin who was also on his way to producing professional quality music and also he was organizing really amazing Psytrance events in some amazing natural places in Malta.

A bit about Colin:

Colin was born 1975 Malta started to listen to Goa Trance in 1993 at the early age of 17. Goa Trance was the first step into music and slowly he started to play in local electronic music parties making his way up to being a resident DJ in the best clubs in Malta at that time. At the beginning of 1996 Colin started to organize small events until it became a party organization named 'Planet Trance' which was and still is a great success. Planet Trance also brought to Malta some foreign artists like SpaceCat and Star-X and kept providing a beautiful scene going for all these years with amazing quality music and atmosphere.

At the end of 2000 he started to buy some equipment with one of his best friends Charlie (Tripy) and they spent days experimenting with psychedelic sounds. During this time Colin went to some big parties and festivals in Europe, Africa, Brazil and then travelled to India where he played in Goa parties with some of the best artists. After doing some tracks with another great friend of his Jean Claude (Ralph), he then met Gilbert who was coming back from Travelling and was also setting up a studio…

Soul Kontakt:

In the end of the year 2004 Colin Piscopo and Gilbert Cordina joined together to form Soul Kontakt a Professional Psytrance production project based in Malta. They have been working together as Soul Kontakt ever since, travelling to Brasil in 2006 and to India in 2009, they now produce a strong, intense, clean & distinctive powerful voyage through psychedelic music.

Having released their first track Hypnotized on YSE Records in 2006. They then decided to release for free their Debut Ep Deliverance on Ektoplazm Records in 2008 which thanks to Alexander Basilisk was a complete success with over 13,000 downloads!
